A simple piston tower can't transmit signals up because effects of quasi-connectivity cause the tower to freeze in its state and not disable upon falling edge. ![]() ![]() If using more than two slime blocks per piston, the piston tower can transmit a signal upward. Up to 11 slime blocks per piston can be used. Using slime blocks together with a basic piston tower may drastically improve its performance, because less pistons are used for the same height in comparison to a simple piston tower, and piston moves more blocks. Up or down 1×1×N 1-wide circuit delay: 1.5 ticks per piston (rising edge) and none (falling edge) This is a variation of the simple piston tower that uses slime blocks. An upward-directed transmission using pistons is not possible in Java Edition due to effects of quasi-connectivity, unless slime blocks are used to move the blocks of redstone. This makes piston towers less useful for rapidly changing states. Because of the difference in rising and falling edge behavior, off-pulses are extended by 1.5 ticks per piston and on-pulses are shortened by 1.5 ticks per piston and may possibly be erased altogether. another sticky piston placed underneath that solid block, pointing downward, then another redstone block, a space, redstone dust on a solid block, and so on, allowing 1×1 downward transmission. Piston tower Down Only, Up or Down 1×1×N 1-wide circuit delay: 1.5 ticks per 5 vertical blocks (rising edge) and none (falling edge) A sticky piston pointing downward can push a block of redstone into the space above redstone dust that is placed on top of a solid block. Torch cascade Down Only 1×2×N 1-wide, silent circuit delay: 1 tick per 2 vertical blocks Torch ladders are 1×2 tileable upward but 2×2 alternating tileable downward. Torch ladder Up Only 1×2×N 1-wide, silent circuit delay: 1 tick per vertical block Redstone torches can power redstone dust beneath them, allowing transmission downward. The border of the clock will not be replaced by the plugin, but if you have blocks in the way, such as in this example below, they will eventually be replaced by the plugin when a hand needs the space.Up only 1×1×N 1-wide, silent circuit delay: 1 tick per 2 vertical blocks Redstone torches can power blocks above them, allowing transmission upward. The size of the selection must be an odd-number and square. To define a clock, simply select the corners of a surface that you want to be a clock, up to 2 blocks deep. Additionally, the plugin double-checks to see if the clock's chunk is even loaded before attempting to update the clock face, so that helps ease usage. That said, I have tested running at least 30 clocks simultaneously - some of which were quite large - with no noticeable impact on server performance. This isn't intended for use on a clocks-only world. Best set up in areas where players are not able to break blocks, eq protected with WorldGuard.įairly lightweight and CPU-friendly, but all updates happen in the same tick, so don't go TOO crazy. Additionally, you can give the clocks some depth so each hand has its own layer (only 2 deep supported at the moment)Ĭurrently admin-only, and the blocks are not protected from destruction. Clocks can show minute updates (10 updates per minecraft hour), or just move the hour hand. This is for all servers out there with a clock tower, or thinking of adding clocks somewhere!Įver thought it would be really neat if that decorative clock you have in the town actually moved?Įach of the hands can be a different material, and even a unique centerpiece.
